Balboa Park Terrace HOA — SMS Terms

The Balboa Park Terrace HOA text notification program provides informational community messages, including board meeting reminders and building maintenance notices. Board members may separately choose to receive alerts about emergency requests submitted to the HOA and reminders about assigned activities.

Message frequency varies according to HOA activity and your selected preferences. Message and data rates may apply under your mobile service plan.

Choosing to receive texts

Participation is voluntary. Providing a phone number, having a portal account, or subscribing to the email newsletter does not by itself enroll you in text notifications.

To choose text notifications, sign in to the HOA portal, open Settings → Edit profile & preferences, provide your mobile number, select the separate Receive HOA text messages (optional) checkbox, and save your profile. Board members may also select the separate option for emergency-request and assigned-activity alerts. Only choose a mobile number you are authorized to use.

Changing a saved mobile number clears text consent. Save the new number first, then select and save your text preferences for that number.

Stopping texts and subscribing again

Reply STOP to opt out of HOA text notifications. You can also clear your text notification preference and save your profile in the portal. Opting out of texts does not by itself unsubscribe you from the separate email newsletter.

Replying START, UNSTOP, or YES alone does not restore your consent in the HOA portal. To subscribe again, select and save your text notification preference in the portal. A mobile provider may separately require a keyword reply to unblock delivery after a previous STOP request.

Reply HELP for the program's help response, or email board@balboaparkterrace.com. This number does not provide a general two-way conversation inbox; use the HOA portal or email for requests that need a response.

Emergency situations

Do not rely on HOA text messages to report an emergency or receive urgent help. Text delivery can be delayed or fail. In an emergency requiring police, fire, or medical assistance, contact emergency services directly. An HOA “emergency request” alert is an administrative notification and is not an emergency-response service.
